Text of Complaint by Pooja Chopra:

I got to know about this clothing brand called Finifox, from instagram and it was offering attractive discounts on their website. I clicked the url which was provided in their instagram bio and it redirected me to their website. I could browse through all sorts of men’s and women’s wear on the website. On 16th July 2020, I ordered 4 shirts @ Rs 1475, using my upi details. The payment was done via razorpay gateway and it was a rather smooth process like any other legitimate online payment procedure. After the payment, I received two messages from Finifox. First text confirmed the placement of order and also had order details like order number along with their helpline number. It also mentioned that the order will be delivered within 14 days. The second text mentioned the date of delivery of the product, which was 3rd August 2020.  After waiting for 17 days, it was finally 3rd of August but there was no message from the website as to when the package had been dispatched or when it will be delivered and even on the scheduled date, i.e., 3rd August, the package was not delivered at my address. I had a gut feeling that there was something wrong.

On 4th August, I called at the helpline number which was provided in the text I had received on the day of placement of the order. To my surprise the number was switched off and truecaller app had saved the number as “Fraud Finifox”. Then I tried to open their website but it was taken down by that time and the old link showed 404 error.

Now, one thing is sure that I will not receive my order but what saddens me more is that I’ve no way to get hold of people who set up the fraudulent website. Therefore, I’m writing this complaint with the hope that the wrongdoers will get caught and I wish to get compensated, not only against the order that I placed but also for the mental harassment it has caused me. I request the Consumer Complaints Court to take this case forward.

    The emails that I have sent them are coming back as undeliverable.
    Now, one thing is sure that I will not receive my order but what saddens me more is that I’ve no way to get hold of people who set up the fraudulent website. Therefore, I’m writing this complaint with the hope that the wrongdoers will get caught and I wish to get compensated, not only against the order that I placed but also for the mental harassment it has caused me. I request the Consumer Complaints Court to take this case forward.
