I had ordered food from Swiggy via ORDER #171120062936 (ordered in Varanasi from Pallavi Bati Chokha Restaurant).
After more than 40 min of ordering, Swiggy customer care executive called me regarding the status of this order (which is very unusual as customer care never calls to know the status of order) and to confirm from the delivery person when the order was going to get delivered. When I called the delivery person he told me he was on bicycle and would not be delivering the order to such far location (around 5-6 km). He said he had requested another person on bike to come and get it but he did not know whether any other delivery partner was coming or not. I asked if I should cancel the order and he said you may as I will not be delivering it. Then again I got a call from swiggy customer care and I requested them to cancel my order as per what was told to me by the delivery partner. My order was cancelled with no intimation that my entire amount will be deducted. The lady on the phone did not even warn me that swiggy would be charging me for it. As the fault was from Swiggy’s side I had no reason to believe I would be paying for my cancelled order. When on cancellation no refund was issued to me, I enquired about this from Swiggy customer chat, email and even Twitter. I was told that swiggy will not be able to make any monetary adjustments for this order, since the cancellation request was raised post 1 minute of order being placed.
I wish to lodge a complaint against this policy of Swiggy. My entire amount of order (Rs 281.00) has been deducted when it was the fault of delivery partner and swiggy as I was forced to cancel the order. The entire thing can be verified from Swiggy customer care phone records. Still swiggy is not willing to refund my amount.
