What is Jio GigaFiber

Jio GigaFiber provides ultra-high data transfer speeds. It also provides a host of other services such as high speed wall-to-wall Wi-Fi coverage, IPTV, D2H services, high speed gaming with ping levels as low as 1ms, etc.

The service is a fixed-line fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service.

The broadband connections have speeds of up to 1 Gbps.

The service is provided to more than 1,100 cities simultaneously across the country.

In addition to ultra-high data transfer speeds, Jio GigaFiber provides a host of other services such as high speed wall-to-wall Wi-Fi coverage, IPTV, D2H services, high speed gaming with ping levels as low as 1 ms, etc.

A device called the Jio GigaTV set-top box is installed after registration.

The box provides about 600 channels along with other contents such as movies, songs, etc. The box connects to large-sized televisions and is capable of delivering programmes in ultra-high 4K resolution.

Jio GigaFiber registration began on August 15, 12am midnight.

Customers can register on the MyJio app or on Jio’s official website Jio.com.

How to register for Jio GigaFiber?

Step 1: Open MyJio app/Jio.com website.

Step 2: Tap/click on the ‘Invite Jio GigaFiber Now’ tab.

Step 3: Once you tap/click the tab you will be redirected to a page which automatically captures your current Address. Users who want to use a different address can tap/click on the ‘Change’ tab where you can manually type in your address. Once you finish, hit Submit. Do not forget to mention whether the address is your Home Address or Work Address. Once all the information has been correctly inserted hit ‘Confirm’ button.

Step 4: After hitting the Confirm button, users will be redirected to another page where he/she will have to insert Full name and the mobile phone number. Users can optionally confirm whether one is submitting the details on behalf of A: RWA/Society, B: Developer (builder), or C: Township.

Users who register on the website will have to go through an additional step which generates an OTP in order to confirm that the mobile number used is genuine.

Step 5: The last step is to hit on ‘Submit’ after which the app provides a confirmation that the address details have been successfully shared.

JioGigaFiber Tariff Plans

Jio GigaFiber broadband plans are expected to start at Rs 500.

The details of the tariff and plans are as follows:

Jio GigaFiber Rs 500 plan will be valid for 30 days and benefit the customer with 300GB of data with speeds maxed out to 50Mbps

Jio GigaFiber Rs 750 plan will offer 450GB at 50Mbps for a validity of 30 days

Jio GigaFiber Rs 999 plan will provide a 100Mbps connection with the data limit of 600GB for 30 days

Jio GigaFiber 1,299 plan will last for 30 days and give 750GB of 100Mbps data

Jio GigaFiber Rs 1,500 plan will give the highest broadband data amount of 900GB for 30 days with a maximum speed of 150Mbps.

Jio GigaFiber is designed to offer a maximum speed of 1Gbps. The router installed will come with support for 1Gbps bandwidth.

Jio GigaFiber preview offer: Price, data offer

JioGigaFiber preview offers customers internet up to 100Mbps for 90 days, which is 3 months. The monthly data quota is 100GB and it comes with complimentary access to Jio’s premium apps.

Since this is a preview offer, Jio is not charging any installation fees.

However, customers have to pay Rs 4500 as a security deposit for the GigaHub Home Gateway device, which will provide the internet service to the customer’s home. The deposit can be paid by Debit, Credit Card, Jio Money or Paytm.

Complimentary data top-up of 40 GB

If customers consume the 100GB of monthly data, they get a complimentary data top-up of 40 GB via MyJio App or through Jio.com. The top-up is free of charge, and users do not have to pay anything extra.

Appellate authority for filing complaints against Jio
