Text of Complaint by Keyur Doshi:

I was in urgent need of broadband services as my brother from USA was visiting our home within next 2 days in Mumbai. He had to work from home for next one full week. I went to Vodafone store in SV Road, Khar west and Mr.Anil (vodafone executive) suggested me to take YOU broadband services (with whom vodafone has tie up) and confirmed that connection will be done within 2 days.

Other request was to have static IP so that my brother could share the same to his USA office and get necessary access rights to work from home. Anil confirmed additional Rs.150 per month cost for static IP.

I took data plan for 3 months, however, i wanted static IP for 1 month only so Anil said that you can pay directly to YOU broadband for static IP and he also confirmed that payment can be made for 1 month. I spent more than 90 minutes in the store and paid Rs.2,443/- through card for 90 day broadband services.

There was no call for next 2 days from YOU broadband. I had to call their customer support team and had to wait for one long hour before anyone came on call and  learnt that it takes 7 days for a case to get registered at their end (which was not communicated to me by Anil) and another 2-3 days for installation.

I asked him to immediately cancel the application to which he said that he will give me a ‘cheque’ after 2-3 days (cheque???). The next saturday (after couple of days) i went to vodafone store again and met Anil to claim refund. He went down and discussed with Mr.Ankit Chavan (store manager) and confirmed that installation will happen today and there was no need for cancellation.

The net was connected and then we contacted YOU broadband again for static IP. They said that since your plan is for 3 months you will have to pay Rs.450 (150*3) and they do not provide static IP on monthly basis.

The lady’s name was Afsha and she was very rude. She said either you pay full or leave it. My brother had to work and hence we paid full Rs.450/-. This was despite multiple confirmation by Anil with YOU broadband.

Next saturday i visited Vodafone store again and met store manager, Ankit Chavan (mobile No.-9930773355). I told him the full incident and requested for Rs.300/- as it was due to miscommunication error from their end. He confirmed that he will talk with YOU broadband and will call back on Monday.

There was no call from him and so i called him on Tuesday (31st July 18). He disconnected my calls. After couple of days, he called and said that he will adjust the amount by recharging Rs.509 plan in my mobile number. He confirmed the same on the phone.

However, today there was no recharge done and it being a working day, my net and calling was off. I had to immediately recharge to get net connection and activate voice. I called store manager twice but he disconnected my calls.

My complaint is against vodafone for misleading me, taking extra money and not refunding extra money and giving false promises. We suffered by visiting store multiple times and wasting our valuable time.

My brother suffered as there was delay in net connection. His per day salary may be 10 times more than store managers monthly salary. We claim the same by filing this complaint.
