Text of Complaint by Jitheesh Prajwal M:

I had raised a concern regarding my Flipkart Pay Later account because my CIBIL score was affected. The issue was that despite having cleared all my dues, a loan account no. 104711869 was showing an open status with an overdue amount of Rs. 812. This loan account was opened by Flipkart in IDFC First Bank On February 2023, whom they have a tie-up with. This Loan of 3 month tenure should have been closed by April 2023.

Briefly explaining the issue: I have paid all my installments for the product for which this loan account was opened. It also showed on my Flipkart app that all dues are cleared via Flipkart Pay Later. I have called several times the customer support asked the agents how the overdue appeared on IDFC’s page when I already paid everything I owed. They replied that didn’t know why it shows that, but also confirmed that I don’t have any dues in my Flipkart Pay Later account. I don’t understand how Flipkart doesn’t have any idea why an outstanding amount is showing on a customer’s loan account when they are the ones who have a tie-up with IDFC First Bank. They should be contacting the bank to resolve the issue. But instead they ask me to contact the IDFC First Back with the shared helpline numbers and I questioned why I should deal with bank. But due to lack of Flipkart consumer support I contacted the bank. The customer support of financial institute (IDFC First Bank) says it is Merchant (Flipkart ) Issue they have to resolve the issue on their side and to update them. They told me to contact the merchant. Over twenty Days I am calling and mailing the issue to financial institute (IDFC First Bank) and merchant (Flipkart ),TO – FRO. Still the issue not resolved.

Now the question is why should a customer go to the bank ?
While customer was not the one who opened the account with finance institute (IDFC First Bank) and customer opted for Pay Later on Ecommerce APP the merchant (Flipkart). The transactions made to settle payments were made to merchant (Flipkart) Not directly to Financial Institute (IDFC First bank). Then any transaction between bank and merchant will be responsibility of merchant and financial institute. Shouldn’t Merchant would resolve the issue?
Why should customer get affected by their mistake/errors?
It makes no sense.

Due to this the My CIBL Score is being comprised for two months and the issue is escalating. Consumer time and money is lost while contacting the the customer support team.

  1. Same is happening with me right now. When i call Flipkart they say we have nothing to do call IDFC and IDFC says the same when i call them. I don’t know what to do and where to complain. Even IDFC blocked my account.
