Vodafone complaint

I have been battling a disputed payment issue for the past two months with Vodafone. I am being unnecessarily harassed even after ensuring all my payments have been made in time and automatically through my Credit Card.

I have ported my postpaid Vodafone number on July 11th, 2020 to Jio Prepaid.

According to bill statement mailed to me on 7th August, 2020 by Vodafone I have not paid my due for 7th July, 2020. And after all adjustments my bill invoice for 8th August, 2020 amounts to Rs.465.32.

Taking into account :

DESCRIPTION

AMOUNT

MY ACCOUNT

1.

Prorated amount from 6 July – 11th July (including tax)

₹114/-

Debit

2.

July 2020 Vodafone bill amount

₹592.36

Debit

3.

22 July payment from my Credit Card

₹592.36

Credit

4.

Deposit Refund (on porting out of Vodafone)

₹300/-

Credit

Balance

₹186/-

Credit

Thus I do not have any dues to make to Vodafone. In fact, Vodafone owes me ₹186/-

  • I had visited the Vodafone store at Merlin Building, on Deshpran Sasmal Road, Kolkata on 14th August,2020 and presented my Credit Card statement for July,2020 which clearly showed my payment to Vodafone Bill Desk on 22nd July, 2020. Ms. Soma, the Relationship Manager who attended to me, told me that this payment has not been credited into my account since that was closed after my porting the number. She assured me that the payment would soon be reverted back to my Credit Card. But neither of my August and September statements reflected any such reversal.
  • I had reached out to Customer Care through email but I had a string of rhetoric mails from their end sending me the August Bill invoice in response to each of my mails.
  • I again visited the same store on 28th August, to try to resolve this problem. But the Relationship Manager, Mr. Avinandan was extremely rude and unhelpful.
  • On 29th August, 2020 I went to the Vodafone store at Hazra crossing and Mr. Pintu who attended to me asked me to give him the Transaction id of the Credit Card payment, which I managed to procure after an elaborate procedure. He told me that he will mail this to the relevant department and the matter will be resolved in a few days.
  • On 7th September,2020 I got a mail from Asiya of Vodafone, and it seemed that the issue had been resolved but the phone number and account numbers that she referred to seemed alien to me and I clarified that to her by email. I got a call from her on 9th September, 2020 where she explained that my case had erroneously been referred to her, which is in the Mumbai Circle! After that she sent it to Kolkata Circle after which Suman Dolui, again from Vodafone sent a mail to me and stated once again the Bill invoice rhetoric!
  • On 9th September, 2020 my mobile service was suspended by Jio stating that this is due to nonpayment of  my dues to Vodafone. I went to the Vodafone store near South City Mall on Prince Anwar Shah Road, Kolkata to understand why this had happened. Once again the Relationship Manager, Mr. Amit, was extremely rude and uncooperative. I insisted on getting this matter resolved and this time the store Manager Mr. Sumit listened to my case and said that he will take up this case and it will take at least 3-4 working days, and it should get done  by 15th September!
  • On 12th September I was contacted by a representative, Syed Tausif Arif, of Vodafone appellate and the whole issue was discussed and an assurance given to me that the matter would be resolved asap and even affirmed that my Autopay instruction should be stopped. I shared all the relevant documents (Vodafone bill statements, Credit Card statement, Vodafone bill desk Transaction ID) on his email.
  • On 18th September,2020 I mailed him my Credit Card no. in a password protected zip file as requested by him.
  • On 22nd September, 2020 I got a message alert from my Credit Card provider stating that ₹406.32 had been credited to Vodafone. No payment was debited from my Credit Card in August, 2020.
  • On 22nd September, 2020 a transaction has been initiated by Vodafone, despite the fact that my account with them had been closed and my instruction to stop the Autopay.
  • Everytime that I have got a mail/message/call reminder for making the payment the amount stated has not been consistent.
  • I have been getting calls from Vodafone billing department dutifully telling me to make the payment and NOT registering my assertion that there is a discrepancy in the billing statement, as it is out of their jurisdiction, they say.
  • The issues that I have raised in each of my mails to Vodafone Customer Care, I have always been given the same response from their end – the bill statement! Only when the matter reached Vodafone appellate, I have got some relavant communication.
  • I have visited the Vodafone store four times. Out of which twice I was sent back with assurance that the problem will be resolved but after more than a month and during this pandemic with an old mother at home, risking things, I am running pillar to post to Vodafone to attend to my dispute. And all this, when my credit card / bank has debited my account towards a Vodafone transaction.
  • As of now, the mobile service to my phone has been suspended by Jio, because of non – clearance from Vodafone!Vodafone complaint
