Dear Sir/ Mam,
My name is Shruti. I want to file a complaint against KYC policy of Paytm. Being a customer, we are adding our hard earn money in Paytm and using it in purchasing items and making other transactions.
So our bank account details are already lying with them. Moreover yesterday evening when I added money in my Paytm wallet, there was no alert message from Paytm that after adding your money you will not be able to use it till your KYC will be done.
Suddenly when I was paying to one of the vendor, I was unable to utilize my own wallet money as I haven’t completed the KYC procedure. Helplessly for making the payment, I started with the KYC procedure today itself.
Once I provided my Adhaar Card number to them, they started asking for the unrelated personal information, which was simply not required like my parents name, my occupation, my PAN Card number.
Though I tried to skip that part, but without filling those unrequired personal information you cannot complete your information. My point is that in order to use my own money, why would I provide my Adhaar card details, my account details, my PAN card number, my Date of Birth, my Parents name, my Occupation? Moreover they will send someone on my doorstep for the verification.
Neither I am using your banking facility, nor your company is a Goverment Organization. How come you even make verification procedure valid and mandatory? Are you planning to do some kind of scandal?
I want to understand, why you need these personal information & making it mandatory for everyone who is just using your app for making transactions. Our banks have already verified our documents and accounts. Government has approved our adhaar card because we are verified Indian citizen, then what is your personal interest in that?
I want a proper reply on this. When a billion dollar company like facebook is unable to secure its customer data, do you really think that you require our each and every detail which are not at all required by you and keep it safe?
Thanks & Regards
Shruti Pandey

I agree with your point Shruti. What is the guarantee that our data is secure
? This needs serious consideration by government.
