Text of Complaint by Jairus George:

Hello, I ordered food from Swiggy on the 03rd of July 2022, I was having the flu so I had to stay home and order food online. Order number #139933944272

I ordered three different item of foods from a nice restaurant hoping for a decent dinner

Everything was fine from picking, ordering and payment but when it came down to the delivery things turned sour.

the delivery person came to a nearby location and called me and asked me to come to him instead of him coming to me.

I told him that I am sick and I cannot leave my home. He instantly became rude and told me that “It’s not my problem that you are sick! my job is not to deliver at the doorstep but to deliver at a location” so I told him that every other delivery partner has always delivered to the doorstep and in fact the app has an option to pick whether the delivery should be at the doorstep, hand-delivered or left at the porch.

He said that I am uneducated and that he doesn’t have the time to deal with this, he continued to say that he will get wet from coming to deliver to my doorstep. I further elaborated to him that the company levies extra charges for unideal weather conditions like rain so I am also paying extra for this delivery.

He simply refused to deliver the food to my doorstep so I told him that I will deal with this directly with support, so I hung up the phone and contacted support where they told me that they will call him and resolve this issue.

I watched him argue with the support outside my apartment and as he is doing so, he took out my package and crumbled it open. allowing the rain to pour into it.

After about a few minutes of him on the phone – he finally got off his vehicle and delivered the food to me. while doing so he yelled at me “I got wet because of you!” and I said no problem. and he left curses more and more. I had already realized what he did to my food but I knew there was nothing that could be done through the delivery guy, only through support.

So I continued my chat with support only to be disappointed by them – they kept insisting since this case is complicated that I email them – I did that hoping to find a resolution because I spent money for food that is given to my spoiled and in condition that I cannot consider as edible.

But to my surprise, I get automated robotic responses from the email and ZERO compensation for the mishap that is entirely because of Swiggy and their poor management system.
