Text of Complaint by Prafulla Kailash Tajane:

This is Prafulla Kailash Tajane, using mobile number 982107247 from last 11-12 Years.
 
It has been 5 Days since i have launched the request of sim upgrade with Airtel store located at Appasaheb Marathe Marg, Century Bazaar, Prabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400025.
 
Below is the day wise visit details to Air
  1. 24th May, 2019 – Went with documents for upgrade paid Rs 25 submitted online confirmation, i was handed over a sim pack and they have asked to get the sim in phone post 4-5 hours.
    When i have opened the sim pack it was without sim, thus i went again on same day and was advised to process another request for the same and was handed over with another sim whose manufacturing date was March 2018, where as other sim packs which he had were of April 19 manufacturing again they have asked to get the sim in phone post 4-5 hours.

  2. 25th May, 2019 – I have tried calling from sim but phone was getting diverted to customer care – i had to go to the same shop to get it rectified. Later they have informed that some one else number got activated.Then they have dropped email query and many followups, i was asked to wait for activation for 4 hours but it had never happened.
  3. 26th May, 2019 – my sim was still waiting for getting activated.
  4. 27th May, 2019 – I tried reaching the branch and was informed that my query is resolved i need to visit branch for new sim.
    Further i have visited the branch did the new sim formalities and was asked to wait for 4 hours for activation. which dint happened.
  5. 28th May, 2019 – I had to again visit the airtel store for same query and was informed that any one elses number has got activated on my phone.
 

Further i have my concerns related to the reliability and authenticity of the service provided by Airtel.

  1. How can other customers number get activated on my new sim. (and that to multiple times even after addressing the issue)
  2. If others number is activated on sim provided to me then where have you activated my mobile number. (Please clarify)
  3. Considering the sensitivity to handle customers mobile number don’t  you follow.
  4. Does it really take 5 days for the process of sim swap what is your turn around time.
  5. Will airtel take the responsibility if my number is used by any other person and any misconduct or fraud happens.
  6. Who will bear the cost for these 5 days of non usage of service (Do i need to pay for the same??).

Further i have drafted remainder emails still my issue is not resolved and i am out of connectivity. Who is responsibe for the opportunity losses of my phone number being unavailable for such along period of time.
