Booked tickets from Delhi to Tokyo for 2 different dates for 3 people. All money has gone waste
booking.com is scamming customers of their hard-earned money. this is how the scam goes.
1)booking.com advertise low prices for the tickets during the search
2) The tickets are booked and a valid PNR is generated which can be verified on the airline’s website.
3) Few days before departure an email is received from gotogate (which it has accquired) with the subject ” gotogate in partnership with booking.com” and one wonders we booked on booking.com and receiving email from gotogate , that the flight is canceled by the airline and you can apply for a refund on the airline’s website( though the flight status on the airline website does not show it is canceled). You notice that the booking details sent to you now have a different email than the one you had given at the time of booking on their website.
4) The refund page only accepts the email given by the agent and not the one you specified during booking on the booking.com website.
5) The refund is accepted and goes to your credit shell account and when you try to book again to use your credit account it says the original ticket was booked through the agency, contact the agency (booking.com) to book your tickets using your credit account.
6) Booking.com or gotogate never reply once the refund goes to the credit shell account. whole payment is gone
This is a total scam by booking.com / gotogate
