Zomato Carnival offers during the month between April to June required slot bookings to get discounted bill payment offers for dine in at restaurants and for a booking confirmation, they charged a slot booking fee of 25 per person and allowed cancellation of bookings with the amount paid refunded if cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time of booking. Now, I had a lot of bookings made for the entire period with all payment made from Paytm Wallet and had several cancellations made due to several reasons but all within the rules and should have been refunded for all the bookings which were cancelled, but unfortunately the automatic system generated refunds did not happen for my bookings and I was only refunded partially for a few transactions that too in the month of July almost a month or two from when the actual cancellations were made. Now I have shown the zomato team of the total payment made towards the bookings were around 1400 and the amount refunded was around 600, hence a refund of around 800 is still due to me, but they have been spinning the entire matter giving various reasons of not accepting their fault and giving back the amount. I have already contacted Paytm as well since the payments were made from there and actually the initial refunds were issued by them due to some default and for the rest of the refunds due they denied saying that the transactions were successful without actually understanding how the refunds worked. I am not sure who is at fault here, but given the main service provider is Zomato in this matter, they should be responsible and liable for the refunds.
