My wife selling sarees and dress materials in online. One person contacted her by saying Indian army name to buy some cloths for his wife. He told will share some QR codes in WhatsApp and scan those QR codes you will get money. Post scanning R/s 10,000 debited from my 2 bank accounts. Post debiting money asked him to resend the money he told give me Paytm no will repay the money. After giving my Paytm no he changed my Paytm account his name by asking otp. we suspect him he is a fraud person. Later we verified money went to which bank. All money went to his Paytm bank account.Next day early morning (25th Dec 2020) I have raised a complaint in Paytm told them entire story. On January 9th, 2021 Paytm replied by saying the fraud person consumed money hence we won’t refund.Questions: 1. Why Paytm taken so long time to respond my issue.2. Suspecting Paytm has links with Fraudster. 3. There is security breach in Paytm i.e. just by sharing otp completely Paytm account itself changing another person. Ex: Fastag, Paytm Gold, Paytm wallet what not. 4. Why Fraudster using only PAYTM. Can your bank account / debit card / credit card me misused through Paytm ? Yes, if your Paytm account is compromised. When the hacker gets access to your wallet or UPI APP, the hacker can access the bank details or credit/debit details and misuse it to withdraw money. Fraudsters are very good at engaging you into a conversation and get OTP, password, PIN , etc from you to get access to your money.
