I’m Sweta Upadhyay. I received a call on 19th April saying from Paytm mall. A girl was talking on the other side. She told that she’s from Paytm and she gave me my previous order details saying that I won a gift for that order.
She told that I have to purchase anything from paytm worth 5000 but I don’t have to pay at Paytm. She told that she will give me a Paytm mall registered number on which I have to pay this 5000rs.
I paid 5000 rs. by paytm on that number. The number she gave is 9804172903 and then she told that your gift and the saree you purchased worth rs. 5000 will be delivered to you by 22nd April.
Then she told that tomorrow you’ll get a verification call. On 20th April I got a so called verification cum insurance call.
There was a guy talking on the other side. He told me to deposit 10000 for all the taxes which are included on a gift. He told that this money is refundable. I had not that much money in my paytm. I had only 4000 rs. in my paytm account. So he told me to pay via debit card in which I had balance of 14000 Rs.
He asked me everything needed to pay via card and I gave all the details then he asked the otp. I gave him the OTP for 10000. But he told that transaction is failed. Amd he yold I’ve to pay in three times 4000+ 4000+ 2000. But he already deducted my 10000.
I didn’t get any text msg recently for deduction of money as I was talking with my another number so that number was not working for msgs. I believe him that my money is not deducted. He told me to pay 4000 via card. He disconnected the phone and Again I received an OTP for 4000.
Soon he called me and I told him the OTP. Tgen he said to pay the next 4000 via paytm. He gave me a number 8906028480 and said to pay another 4000 on this number. I paid. Then I asked what to do for next 2000.
As he knew that I had only 14000 in my debit card which he had deducted so he told that he is not worried. He believes that I’ll pay that money soon.
Then I thought something is wrong.
Then he told me to hold while he will process other processings for dispatch of my gift.. I hold for 5-6 minutes. Then I called back. Noone picked up the call. Again I called the first number. She picked the call.
As I asked about the processes and my money she disconnected the call. The cheated on me and my taken my 23000 Rs. By cheating.
Please help me. Please help me to get that money back. I have screenshots of the paytm transactions and the received sms regarding to the transaction via my debit card. You are kindly requested to please help me. Please help me to get my money back.
