I am filing this complaint against Zomato regarding Order ID 7831633455 placed on 25 February 2026 for Chicken Tikka Biryani (Full).
Order Details:
Order ID: 7831633455
Date: 25 February 2026
Item Ordered: Chicken Tikka Biryani (Full)
Amount Paid: ₹245.75
Delivery Location: Mulund West, Mumbai
Grounds of Complaint:
1. Overcharging:
The printed menu sent by the restaurant with the package clearly lists the price of Chicken Tikka Biryani (Full) as ₹180. However, on the Zomato platform the same item was priced at ₹220 (excluding GST and platform charges). This price discrepancy was not clearly disclosed and amounts to unfair trade practice.
2. Deficiency of Service:
The food container delivered was significantly underfilled and did not match the quantity expected for a “Full” portion.
3. Unfair Conduct by Restaurant:
The restaurant inserted a promotional slip inside the order encouraging customers to avoid ordering via Zomato and to order directly instead.
4. Failure of Customer Support:
I contacted Zomato support via email and submitted evidence including the invoice, printed menu showing ₹180 price, order receipt and photographs of the underfilled container. Despite this evidence, Zomato refused to take any action.
Relief Sought:
• Refund of the excess amount charged.
• Compensation of ₹10,000 for deficiency of service and harassment.
• Proper explanation regarding the pricing discrepancy and failure of grievance redressal.
If the issue is not resolved, I will proceed with filing a formal complaint before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
