After reading about OnePlus’s policy on trying to rectify the problem, I tried get the screen replaced. However, I got to know from their Kolkata service centre that they don’t replace the screen, but will provide a voucher instead. That voucher is valid only for their online store and not physical stores. So, if I need a new phone, I will have to back up my data, then give my current phone to the service centre and after they give me the voucher, I will have to place an order on their website. Estimated time to deliver the new phone is 5 days. How is this fair? First, the value of the voucher is not even remotely close to the amount I had paid (even if we consider the depreciation). Secondly, OnePlus will not assist in data transfer for this transaction. However, they are very prompt in transferring data when one goes to their store to buy a new phone. And most importantly, how do they expect someone to live without a phone for 5 days?! (The take the old phone in the service centre and the new phone comes after 5 days of placing the order).
