Not getting refund due to Airtel technical glitch

Hi All,

With a grieve experience with Airtel I am escalating this issue to Airtel with the hope that someone will look at the issue and help me out here. I am expecting a refund of Rs 4009.64/- for more than 15 days, have called up Airtel customer service (i.e., 121) multiple time but no luck. Basically, I think the Airtel customer staff is not capable enough to handle such a simple case. Let me put the sequence again which helps you to understand the problem.

1. I have a Airtel post-paid connection, mobile number 9845523425
2. On 31st May 2023, I made payment of Rs 4009.64 through Airtel Mobile app via Goggle Pay. The transaction failed with the error attached with the mail – refer “01 Failed Transation.jpeg”. Transaction id – 769540068412686336
3. The transaction failed, and the app still showed the outstand amount and I received a message from my bank (i.e., HSBC) that amount 4009.4 was detected.
4. Post that I received another message from Airtel that for the failed transaction if there was any amount deducted from my account then it will be refunded to my account within a day. Please refer attached file “02 Airtel message 1.jpeg”
5. With the trust with Airtel, I made the payment via app again but used Net Banking option. This time the transaction was successful, transaction id 7069540815439200256. Refer attached file “03 Successful Transaction.jpeg”
6. The transaction was successful for which I received a message from Airtel. Refer attached file “04 Airtel message 2.jpeg”
7. But after waiting for 2 days, I did not receive my money. On 2nd June 2023, I called Airtel customer service (121), they created a service request # 31-4791348003878 stating the money will be refunded.
8. On the same day, the money was refunded but it was credited to my Airtel Mobile account. Refer screenshot file “05 Airtel complaint no.jpeg”
9. As the money was detected from my bank account, I asked customer service folk to initiate refund to my bank account, for which I was told it will take 15 days.
10. Today is 19th June 2023, which is more than 15 days and I have not yet received my refund. I don’t know where is my money!!!

I have called customer support several times but all the time I get different version, like
– The money is already refunded to my bank account,
– There was no request to make a refund.

I want to know where my money is ? When can I get it back? I am tired of calling customer support (121) and its useless. So, please help me with the next steps.

If you are not the right contact then, please connect me to right team who can address this issue at the earliest. I have been using Airtel for around 19 years, and with this kind of experience I regret staying so long here.
