Text of Complaint by Rodney Dsouza:

Hi. My name is Rodney D’souza, an Airtel post-paid subscriber having Airtel number 84XXXXXXX8.  Actually, I do not want to, but am compelled to write this disgusting feedback about Airtel as it has caused me mental tension, agony and also level of frustration has increased drastically.

  1. When I actually started using the mobile phone, I was a customer of BPL. But then after BPL being closed, I moved to Vodafone and later to Airtel ( as Vodafone network in Goa was very bad and Airtel had comparatively good network )
  2. It’s now more than quite a number of years that I am a customer of Airtel, but of late I have been experiencing very bad service from Airtel
  3. I reside at Malad and the problem that I am facing with Airtel is with regard to the network issue at my house.  I am not able to receive or make calls or even get proper internet.
  4. Every time that I have to make or receive a call, I have to either go into my bedroom balcony or to the building compound and this make it very difficult for me.
  5. I have made numerous complaints to Airtel, but no outcome. There have been numerous Service Requests raised by Airtel, details of which are as follows :-
    1. Service Request No. 31-3033129237605 dtd. 30/05/2020
    2. Service Request No. 31-3109767067192 dtd. 02/07/2020
    3. Service Request No. 31-3294242964281 dtd. 07/08/2020
    4. Service Request No. 31-3367280018253 dtd. 04/09/2020
    5. Service Request No. 31-3397572861184 dtd. 23/09/2020 @ 19:01 hrs
    6. Service Request No. 31-3404919898597 dtd. 27/09/2020 @ 12:10 hrs
    7. Service Request No. 31-3405955625349 dtd. 27/09/2020 @ 19:48 hrs
    8. Service Request No. 31-3408860681057 dtd. 28/09/2020 @ 17:03 hrs
    9. Service Request No. 31-3294242964281 dtd. 12/08/2020 @ 18:34 hrs
    10. Service Request No. 31-3423605833100 dtd. 02/10/2020 @ 18:05 hrs
    11. Service Request No. 31-3427906400891 dtd. 07/10/2020 @ 11:30 hrs
    12. Service Request No. 31-3451131798428 dtd. 14/10/2020 @ 12:34 hrs
  6. All these above Service Request have been closed without providing any resolutions to the customer.  I think I am the first person in the history of Airtel with so many Service Requests regarding complaints pertaining to network issue – to be precise 12 in total )
  7. I have also seen advertisements by Airtel on TV which states that a day will come when there will be “ZERO”complaints in the system.  Yes, it will be when Service Requests are closed without any resolutions.
  8. I am also not sure whether Airtel knows the meaning of “ CUSTOMER SERVICE ”.  According to me for Airtel, Customer Service is actually known as “ CHUTIYA SERVICE ”, because they are freely making fool out of the customer, left-right-centre. Am also dead sure that all those working with Airtel, must have been trained by some idiots who really do not know what Customer Service is all about.
  9. Ask me about Customer Service and I will tell you.  Even I have worked for a telecom industry ( to be precise Australia’s largest telecom industry ) and see the kind of customer service that is provided to its customers. Airtel is nothing front of them ( as they say in Hindi – paani kam chai ).
  10. I would like to inform that I have not paid my Airtel bill which is pending for more than 2 months. Am I a bloody fool to pay when I am not getting the services that I have to get.  I was earlier on 399 plan, but after seeing the advertisement of Platinum Customer with 499 plan, giving all the rosy pictures – superior indoor coverage, priority assistance etc., I upgraded to 499 plan, but what am I getting in return – BULLSHIT.
  11. After a lot of persuasion with Airtel, their engineers one by the name of Rupesh ( moble : 7738572345 ) visited my house on 11/08/2020 at around 12:00 hrs.  He checked the coverage, both outside ( in the building )  and inside my house and said that he will send a report to the technical team and I should be receiving a call in the next 24 hours.  But alas, no call – another way of making customer CHUTIYA.
  12. Couple of days after that I received a call from one particular team stating that they are working on the issue and the matter has been forwarded to the planning team, who will call, but call never came – another way of making customer CHUTIYA.
  13. I even visited the Airtel gallery at Link Road, Malad ( West ), Opp. Infinity Mall and discussed the issue with them. The staff at the gallery by the name of Heena has the audacity to ask me to check my SIM on another handset ( when I have a Samsung 4G handset ).  I literally lost my head and asked her whether I should now buy an IPhone to check.
  14. I even asked the staff at the gallery that I have received SMS stating that a new 4-G tower is added in Malad and asked them the exact location so that I can check how far or in what radius is my house away from the tower, but no reply.  In fact they are telling me to search on the Airtel app and find the tower.  Is this what customer service is ?  Very pathetic.
  15. I would also like to highlight here that due to the network issue that I am facing, I have not been able to give my job interviews wither through phone calls / zoom / google meet etc. Who is to be blamed for this. I cannot go somewhere where network is strong and give my interviews due to noise in the surroundings etc.  Because of this, have been rejected by two companies.  Whose fault, Airtel.  What will I get in return? Will Airtel compensate me for that? Only God knows.
  16. You can very well see in facebook, the number of dirty and sarcastic comments that people have put about Airtel.  On an average let’s say out of 10 customer’s commenting on facebook, all 10 customers have negative comments.
  17. Again after a lot of persuasion once again your engineer by the name of Shymal Kumar ( mobile : 7061969909 ) once again visited my house on 11 October, 2020 – checked for coverage both inside the house ( covering all areas – living room, bedroom, kitchen with both the balconies ) and advised that he will send a report and something will be done.  Regret to inform that no update is received nor anything is done – another way of making customer CHUTIYA.
  18. The another worst part of Airtel is that their Chairman / owner of Airtel really does not know how to run a company.  Nor even their CEO Mr. Gopal Vittal is contactable on email.  I have sent him several e-mails but no reply.  Really pathetic service and to be more honest pathetic way of running a company.
  19. You people call yourselves “ SERVICE PROVIDERS ”, but what service do you provide to the customer.  Nothing – only bullshitting.  Just making a fool out of customer, bluffing them and asking for the bill payments.
  20. I am also very sure as to why I get the reminder calls for pending bill payments. The reason is the salaries of the staff have been held – because the staff salaries are paid on the payments that the customers make ( with regard to bill payments, recharges, DTH charges etc ).  I bet on this Airtel Chairman may not be even shelling a rupee from his pocket to pay the salaries of his staff.
  21. This matter is being published not only on face-book, but it will also go on all social media platforms i.e. instagram, twitter, newspapers, you-tube.  I will also be approaching National Consumer Forum, RTI and also filing complaint in consumer court.
  22. I will ensure that for all the mental agony, tension, and the level of frustration that I have gone through, it is high time that I ask for compensation from Airtel and I will do that.

Jai Hind !!!!
