I’m kavya from Tamil Nadu. I’ve received a call( from Odisha) today afternoon in which it shows meesho in Truecaller. I’ve attended the call, a woman informed that I’ve won in a Lucky draw contest conducted by meesho company for its 8th year celebration. She said that she’s calling from West Bengal and said that I’ve won 12,50,000 rupees . But I didn’t fall for her words . I’ve asked whether it is fake or what …but she said that she’ll send details which has to be shared by me at that moment itself. She also added that either we can buy car ( skoda kushaq) or we can receive 12,50,000 as money in my account. As soon as she said, I’ve received msg from another number through WhatsApp ( number from Andhra Pradesh, India) regarding the details which includes 3 images of skoda kushaq car , a certificate which was edited by my name and a text asking for my details ( aadhar card, pan card , bank pass book ) and it also says that we should pay 12,500 rupees as TDS to them and then only we can receive the amount. She asked me to send all the details through WhatsApp. But I came to know that it was totally fake and they’re trying to rob money from our bank account. Also in addition they’re asking us to pay 12,500 as advance. These are totally fake , they are playing with the people’s money and privacy. I didn’t shared any of my details to that number and didn’t pay any money. My phone number is still with that fraudulent group but I’ve blocked both the numbers (phone number and a number received through WhatsApp). Government must take a strict action against these type of fraudulents . Government must also take action on meesho company for keeping their costumers ‘s details ( phone number, name )as very unsecured. Also meesho must create awareness about these fraudulents in the name of their company. Pls meesho make sure people’s personal information were safe 🙏🏻 .
