Order # OD122517010713600000 / Dated-7th Aug 2021
The order was placed on 7th Aug,2021 and the estimated delivery time was indicated as 17th Aug,2021 . Since there was an urgent need for this item and I had paid INR 28,495/- for the same upfront I was locked with Flipkart . From 12th Aug,2021 onwards I have been following with Flipkart help center be it Chat Bots , Call Center Agent , Email etc but the only thing which was repeated to me on every day both in English & Hindi was ” We understand your concern , Even we would have done the same thing had we been in your situation. Be rest assured our team is doing the needful to get the delivery shipped on time” It was so scripted that during the latter part I used to tell the agent what he would say next . There was no genuine interest to either sort my problem or transparently explain me on the actual status . Till 17th Aug,2021 the status shown on the Flipkart App was “Delivering on 17th Aug” , then on 17th Aug,20121 it got changed to ” Delivering between 17th Aug to 24th Aug ” and on 18th Aug,2021 it has been changed to “Refunded” without my consent
Is this ethical ? I am 100% sure that Flipkart was aware that this delivery will not happen , so why did they keep me in dark till 1th Aug,2021, they could have cancelled the transaction by 12th Aug,2021. Having paid upfront I was not in a position to go for alternate purchases and then on 18th Aug,2021 if I get message that the order has been refunded and the amount will be credited by 23rd Aug,2021 what choice do I have other than going by whatever is forced by Flipkart. This is not at all in line with how an online business should work and now that Flipkart is part of Walmart group , we expect more professionalism as Walmart is fully aware of the laws supporting customer interests in markets like US , Europe etc .
I repeatedly asked for sharing the Seller contact number so that I could check with him whether the order will be fulfilled or not but for that also the standard answer was “As per Flipkart policy we cannot share the Seller contact” . I am fully in agreement with Flipkart policy of not sharing the seller contact but then Flipkart should have contacted the seller and given me the update.
Is cancelling an order on the date of delivery which is around 11 days from the date of order and ethical way of doing online business
A transparent update given at the right time and also if the refund was done earlier I would have been able to order the same from some other source.
