Text of Complaint by Sonia Tamang:

I had ordered some bakery items including a red velvet cake n two pastries on 20th Sept during day time which got rejected by the restaurant and on reaching the seller I was told they were not accepting orders due to some issue with electricity and was asked to order after 5 in the evening hence in the app I was told the items I ordered were out of stock so on cancelling the same I got refunded saying it was from restaurant ‘s end. But on ordering the same items after 5pm I received the same “out of stock” message and my order was not accepted hence I tried to modify the items but it didn’t show the option so I cancelled again but was charged the full amount of INR722 approx at 5:33 pm then I reached out to the customer service and on raising the complaint I was not attended well but my conversation was closed but on checking my cancelled order then the modify option was showing so I cancelled the pastries (were out of stock) and updated my order for just the cake and it was successfully updated and resumed at 5:41 pm but after that nor did I receive the cake or the refund then reaching the bakery was the only thing left and on reaching there I was told there was nothing they could do and all the charge was initiated fully by Swiggy but on checking Swiggy’s complaint it states that the cancellation charges are initiated by the merchant. I have some more screen shots of my resumed order and conversation with the restaurant from which I didn’t get any response. My order no was 83678358831.
