I bought a TV and Vacuum cleaner on 18th July 2019 from Flipkart. After the TV was delivered, i received a message from “BZFLPKAT” saying that I won the First Prize in Flipkart Lucky draw and the prize is a TATA SAFARI worth Rs:12,50,148, and I should pay Rs:8500 towards the registration. The help line numbers were given as +91628700144 and 18001020273. Later some one called from 08582891853 mentioning about my Flipkart order and the same story of winning a TATA SAFARI. Since I see a lot of news about fraud surveys and lucky draws, I did not believe it. Also I was sure that there were no lucky draw contest in Flipkart.
In the Privacy Terms & Conditions, Flipkart states that “We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their marketing and advertising purposes without your explicit consent.” As good as I can remember I have not opted for any advertising or marketing call where my Personal Data can be used. Hence my compliant is against Flipkart for sharing my Personal Data and other details to their 3rd party Vendors, without having a proper control on how these data are being used after. It is clear that one of their service partners are doing this, most probably with the knowledge of Flipkart, because I see there are so many other similar cases with same pattern.
I request to take action against Flipkart for failing to uphold their policy and to bring the person/persons who are responsible for this.
