DTDC shipment no. 7X101991319 was sent on 30-Oct by an online store Provenance, Mumbai. I realised it was sent to an old address (Patna) from where we shifted to Bengaluru after my father’s death recently. I informed DTDC on their helpline to reroute on 04th Nov. They confirmed verbally, but still kept the package in Patna for the next 3 weeks. The delivery was attempted once despite that when the delivery person called and I informed that this needs to be rerouted. After 3.5 weeks, it was sent back to the origin (not rerouted). I wrote to DTDC customer service at least 6 times meanwhile including their CEO – Subhasish Chakraborty, but no one called to respond on email or phone.
The shipment had perishable items. Adding to the woes, we realized now that the shipment was not even delivered back to the store. Note Provenance is a luxury confectionary store with very high visibility. There is no reason why the shipment was still undelivered after three attempts in Mumbai too. I believe DTDC is highly unprofessional and not just led to the loss of perishable items but caused mental agony in the last 41 days. Kindly help to take action against such fraudulence.
After multiple emails to DTDC and getting some sort of verbal
confirmation a few times by your customer service the package was
undelivered.
No Surprise, because I mentioned the same on 04th Nov itself.
However, three attempts had to be made before the package could return
to origin (Not rerouted.?).
Is there a logic to these reattempts, when the receiver himself
confirms that we do not stay there any more.
Anyway, two weeks passed by for your third attempt.
After the third attempt, another 2-3 weeks of wait time was required
for it to be sent back to origin, as upon receiving the package the
seller would send it back again to us on the new address.
After 40 days, the package is still in transit. Of course, the items
won’t be of any use, but does any of this sound unethical, or may be
an operational disaster.

Now that it has become the fight of egos, I am willing to take this up
with the Consumer court and file a formal complaint with a copy of
this note.
