I am writing to raise a serious complaint regarding the conduct of the technician assigned to my service request SR00002L7ICM.
The issue raised was regarding a blinking red light on the set-top box, while the router showed a solid green light, resulting in no internet connectivity. I had already attempted rebooting both devices before raising the request, but the issue persisted.
I subsequently received a call from Nagesha E (+91 9380979775), who informed me that he would be visiting to resolve the issue. Since I was at the office, I requested my wife to assist him during the visit. She informed him that she was on an office meeting and asked him to reach out if needed.
The technician accessed the terrace and later informed me that the issue had been resolved. However, he claimed that both adapters were faulty and replaced them with ones he had brought. When I asked if I could purchase adapters externally, he stated that:
Only Jio adapters would work due to a “sensor”
Local adapters would damage the setup box and router
Replacement costs could exceed ₹2000–₹3000 if not done correctly
Given the urgency of internet access for work, I agreed. He charged:
₹750 per adapter (₹1500 total)
₹250 service charge
The payment was made by my wife, and he collected the OTP. He also requested me to forward the feedback SMS, which I did while I was in a meeting.
However, upon returning home around 9 PM, I inspected the original adapters and found that both adapter wires had been deliberately tampered with. The cuts in the wires appear fresh and intentional, strongly suggesting that the damage was caused during the service visit.
Additionally:
The technician collected payment using a different contact number: “Chethan Jio” (+91 9972828304)
He is now unreachable and not responding to calls
He had also mentioned that he replaced adapters for “another customer in my building,” which raises further concerns
This behavior is highly unethical and unacceptable. It raises serious concerns about trust and safety when allowing technicians into our homes.
I have attached:
Photos of the damaged adapter wires
