I was using 7056666789 with vodafone from a long time which was a prepaid sim. My sim got damaged and i went to the nearest vodafone store to get a replacement sim for it. Due to the unavailability of the sim with them, i was forced to shift to vodafone postpaid services due to urgency. I had my flight for bengaluru next day so i chose postpaid as only postpaid sim were available at that time. I came to bengaluru and within a week my number was suspended without any prior notice. I went to the nearest vodafone store in vijayanagar (Bengaluru). After waiting for a long time, they addressed me and said that another number 9813866789 was running on my name for one year and it has some billing issues that i need to clear before any help can be given for my current number 7056666789. Without my knowledge and consent, a number was running for one year and was billed by vodafone. How is it possible? I wasn’t even aware that a number was being run in the past on my name. I asked them to help me in this situation but they declined and said that they can not do anything because it is haryana circle sim. I convinced them to talk to haryana circle as being a customer of vodafone, for me vodafone is one and how does it matter which circle i’m currently in? It is absurd as if one person has a native circle sim and he is working in another circle, how can he communicate? I’m a citizen of india and it doesn’t matter which state i’m in. So, i was adviced by the store to contact them after a week as they have mailed the haryana circle for the same. I waited for a week and then for a month and now it is almost 3 months it has not been resolved. I called the vodafone store guy and he told me that nothing can be done as i need to pay for a number which without my consent got activated and without my knowledge was being run for one year. I was also told that my number 7056666789 will be permanently barred on 27 december if i don’t get it activated that too only by paying the bill for 9813866789.
I registered the complaint and today I got mail from vodafone that my number is closed and the security for my connection will be refunded to me. I want to know how without prior knowledge any service provider can do this?
Kindly resolve this problem as soon as possible.
