I ordered the food on Zomato at 9:40 PM and was told the food will be delivered to me by 10:51 PM
I called up the customer care team to deliver it ASAP since I was hungry.
I was promised the food will be delivered to me at the time. After half an hour I see the delivery partner is infront of the restaurant but not moving. This is at around 10:15 PM
I called up the Zomato customer service team but was told the food will be delivered.
I waited for one and half hour and the food is still not delivered. Later I got a call from the delivery partner asking me to cancel since he couldn’t deliver as his phone battery was 3 Percent.
I denied to cancel and called up the customer care team and they too asked me to cancel the order since the food wasn’t picked up and the money would be returned.
To reconfirm I called up the restaurant manager who apparently told me the food was picked up quite earlier by the delivery partner.
I then informed regarding this to the customer care team and who in turn told me it was one such instance.
I questioned if the delivery partner was so sure his battery was only 3 percent.. why did he pick up the order and then ask me to cancel it?
Secondly, I asked the customer care team what were they going to do for one and half hour delay.
Third, how would they confirm that the delivery partner was not lying ?
Overall, I ended up starving for 2 hours without food at night.
At the end, the most disappointing thing was the same executive cancelled the order stating it was my suggestion to cancel the food in order to return me the amount.
