• I ordered for the food from a restaurant on zomato app for total amount 478 rs at 20:08 hours. The order was placed at 20:08 hours and I cancelled the order at 20:09 hours. Now zomato is levying the full amount of bill as the cancellation fees. that is totally wrong.  In this case you might ask for the nominal cancellation charge depending upon the cancellation time and whether the food is prepared or not but when it is being cancelled the very next moment it was placed,  the order would not have reached the kitchen also. More over i have not taken my order as I cancelled it nor the restaurant kitchen had prepared the food then who will get the cancellation charge,  restaurant or the zomato?. Zomato charges only 7-10% commission for placing the order for the restraunts and in case the delivery boy is not able to deliver the food to customer and the order is being cancel due to this or any particular or any specific reason then the restaurants are only partly paid for the orders  say only 60 or 40% of total order amount by the zomato. So how can they levy full charges on cancellation as cancellation charge within one minute of placing the order.

This is totally cheating and a fraudulent practice that is being followed by zomato to fool its customer and falsely charging and looting money from them.

I would like to remind that other online food apps like swiggy and ubereats . They dont charge for cancellation fees for any of the orders if it is cancelled within 5 minutes of placing an order. Moreover if the order is cancelled after 5 minutes of placing an order then swiggy charges minimal fees of 75 rs. But in your case you are totally violating all rules.
