My Name is Khwrwmdao Basumatari. I’m a student and as to get some extra pocket money, I had published a Gig on My LinkedIn Account. After One day, I receive a Whatsapp message asking me if I had applied for some online work. Then I said yes. The work was copy/paste form fillup. Now he/she gave me Agreement which I had to sign. I had read the agreement thoroughly and had signed to it. In agreement, It was mentioned that “If I don’t complete the work before the said date, I have to pay a registeration amount”. Then After Signing the agreement, I received a mail giving my Credentials (username and password) for the login in their work website, which was www.workfromhomeff.com.
Then I login in their said website with given credentials. There I had work of Filling 500 forms within 5 days (I had to submit in 22-08-2021). That day, I did some work and Finished about 50 forms. Then at Next Day, I tried Login, but I was unable to Login as thier server crashes (Screenshot of the error will be attached). I thought maybe server is busy and so I tried logging in later in evening. But it was the same in the evening or the Days after that. I tried contacting the Person who first contacted me in whatsapp. But he/she neither sees my message and nor sends reply. I tried calling too, but Don’t No why the call was not connected. I also wrote mail to the Helpline. None of them Replied me. Then I thought maybe this was fraud so I keep calm. Then Today (24-08-2021), I received a Mail with subject Reminder of Payment which says “This email is being written to inform you that mentioned as per Agreement, your past work is Not Submitted/ Qc Failed .” Then After some time, I received a Phone call who was referring himself to be advocate. He said me that I have not completed my work and as agreement I have to Pay A fee, if you want to get back the job, you have to pay 8k and if you want to cancel the agreement, you have to pay 7k. Or else a legal action will be given against you.
I explained him that I faced such issues (server issues) and I tried contacting them also, but none of them gave response.
But he said there is no way now, you have to pay the fee or face legal action.
Then I said, I have done nothing wrong, it’s your fault that you have not response when I faced the problems.
And the Phone Got cut.
The Company Name was OT TECHNOLOGY claiming to be of Gujarat. I searched about an hour in the Internet about the said OT TECHNOLOGY, Gujarat. But not a single Result is displayed. I even asked them the registration Number of the company, but they failed to provide.
Now I need help, what if they Pass me a Legal action?
I need help. Please. I searched On the Internet about such fraud happened to me and got to know this consumer complaint court. So decided to share Share it.
I have attached some screenshots related to this case.
I beleive Such fraudsters will be behind the bars someday and justice will be serve amoung the culprits like me.
