Fraudsters send a sms message stating that the net banking account will be blocked today for want of KYC compliance etc.

One of the messages reads as follows:

“Dear Customer your HDFC net banking account will be blocked today., please update your PAN CARD number and click here link https://byrl.me/eLgM3vH“.

It was sent from the mobile phone number 07890655478

Clicking on the link takes one to a bogus site on the following url: https://hdfrtwe-xyz.preview-domain.com/

All the confidential information such as the Customer ID/ User ID, Password/ IPIN, Mobile Number, Email ID, Password, One Time Password(OTP), Account Holder Name and Place Of Birth.

Report to HDFC Bank and demand an immediate blocking of the account

If one has inadvertently submitted the information, he or she should immediately call HDFC Bank at 1800 202 6161 / 1860 267 6161 (accessible across India) and demand a blocking of the bank account and/ or credit card.

Alert: Beware of fraudsters sending SMS citing your SIM block / suspension / KYC / Document verification pending. DO NOT CALL BACK as they may ask you to download Apps to access your mobile phone and may get confidential information including OTP.
