My name is Jashwanth Kumar from Hyderabad, India. I’m a great fan of Volkswagen brand, In the year 2011 we welcomed our first car Volkswagen Polo (AP28CG3608) into our family and we were able to make and enjoy many beautiful moments with that VW car. Ever since we have been proud of our decision for choosing and owning a Volkswagen car, since then I always spoke or taken the side of Volkswagen in many discussions among our group when the topic was about cars.
In the month of February 2019, we decided to buy another car, despite my family suggested me to look into other brand cars (Honda, Suzuki, etc.) I have chosen Volkswagen Ameo Highline plus 1.5 DSG(TS10AQTR1004) considering long great 8+ years of relationship with Volkswagen. I paid the full amount by 28th February 2019 and took delivery on March 9th, 2019 from Volkswagen Showroom Secendrabad.
After 15 days, On 23rd March 2019 Saturday I filled fuel from a fuel station and drove my car for 3-4 km, then my car suddenly stalled on road after that I called roadside assistance and towed vehicle to nearby Volkswagen service center (Khaja Guda). then the service center service advisor told me to go home as it takes time for diagnosis. On 25th March 2019, I got a call from the service center they informed me that due to the fuel problem, CR system got damaged completely which required replacement and it’s not covered in warranty and the quotation I have received for repair around INR 250000/- which means nearly 30% of the total vehicle cost. That news stunned me and I couldn’t come to terms quickly out of disappointment. After that i filed a complaint against the fuel station, During the police preliminary investigation they found out that none of the other vehicles reported or faced this issue and it turned to my surprise only my car is affected then police concluded that there is no issue with fuel. From other sources, I also came to know that toyota/suzuki vehicles are having the feature to handle if there any water mixed fuel issues by displaying an indicator.
I roamed here and there to find assistance for almost a week after that incident, again I towed my car to Secunderabad service center which is my regular service center for the second opinion, they also said the same thing. All my dreams are collapsed now and my only hope left with Volkswagen for being a loyal customer for a long time. Since the day I came to know about this incident, I couldn’t eat or sleep properly which is also affecting my professional and personal life.
Being an international brand which also has a great reputation throughout the world, I expect you to look into this matter on humanitarian grounds. Since 23rd March 2019, I’m using only my bike for transportation even in 40 Degree Centigrade temperature. I’m in contact with VW customer care since april 18th 2019 but no one from Volkswagen contacted me as of now and customer care people also not providing me any contact of Volkswagen higher management
Since I have used my car only for 15 days which not even touched 700 KM. So Here are my hopes/expectations from Volkswagen:
- I request you to replace the car or at least damaged parts for free of cost and give me assurance
If you do not agree with the request mentioned above please consider taking back my vehicle and give me a refund as I can’t bear the fear in my mind whenever I fill fuel in my car.
