Text of Complaint by Santhosh Koruthu:

Today I got a message from VZ-ViCMS with the following message:

Hello!

Thank you for choosing to access Handset Inbuilt Games, You have been charged Rs 25 Your balance is Rs ….

When I checked the balance, I found that the mentioned amount (Rs. 25) has been deducted.

Since I am aware of this malpractice by Vi, for which I have been suffering for many months, I have been very watchful since last recharge (now I can do that since I am retired from my job now and thus have more free time).  I am very careful in dealing with messages.  I simply delete the unwanted messages.  I do not respond to any message from unknown senders. I use a non-smart handset.  It is an old Nokia 105: basic phone only.  I have not played any games on the phone.  Therefore, it is very clear that Vi has arbitrarily charged me Rs. 25.

This has happened many times in the past. When we complain to Vi, we are redirected to many different numbers. The issue is never solved.  During the first noticed instance, my wife spent a whole day trying to resolve the issue, with no success.  We tell them that we do not want any add-on service.  They say they cannot stop it.  We are told to contact different numbers.  Sometimes we are redirected to an earlier contacted number.  Finally we just gave up.  In the next instances of this cheating by Vi, we tried to contact Vi for some time and then gave up.

In between I sent STOP to 155223. It appeared to work.  At least for some time. Now I know Vi is cheating again.
