On Friday morning, 5th May’2023, someone from Urban Company had visited my place for AC servicing. The guy first did deep cleaning of my AC in hall and then went on ahead to my 3 rooms and when we came back to the hall, we saw that AC servicing guy not fitted the outlet pip of AC properly because of which water had started dripping on my TV from the AC. Now there is permanent damage my TV which i bought just few months back on 26th January’23. There is permanent distortion on tv Display and when k raised the issue to urban company, they first sent their own TV repair technician who himself told their customer care people that the TV can only be serviced by the brand company themselves and jot by him. The customer care then told me on call to reach out to the tv brand and have it repaired. They even promised me on call that whatever will be the charges, they will reimburse it to me. I told them i need it in writing, so they even said the same on chat itself (attaching the screenshot of the chat along). And then when i called the TV brand repair guy and he told me the estimated cost to have the TV screen replaced (since it cant be serviced), will be Rs. 47,700. I went on ahead and informed Urban Company customer care to give me confirmation on chat that the whole amount will be reimbursed to me. They went back on their word and told me that they can only reimburse me upto Rs. 10,000 for it. This is a complete scam, they have started ignoring my messages, they have started taking 24 hrs to get back to me on call. They are not some local store anymore, they are big company and are required to compensate for any damages they cause as per Indian Consumer Act. Even if they do reimburse me the amount, my TV will have lost its resale value just few months after i bought it since it will always have the “repaired” tag to it.
