Dear Sir,
Please note I visited Maldives on 2nd March 2019. Before leaving, I checked with Airtel kiosk at the Indira Gandhi International airport for the international roaming pack for Maldives but the representative sitting at the kiosk told us that there is no pack for Maldives.
After reaching Male airport, just to get my phone connected to the Male airport wifi, I switched on my data for barely 4-5 minutes. Pls note- I did not use any application or surfed for any info. Suddenly, to my shock, I got a message from airtel that there has been a high data usage for 75 MB data with value Rs. 77,189!! After this airtel blocked my roaming calls & data.
Pls note firstly, charging this kind of amount is insane specially when there was no information from airtel for the data rates!
Secondly if we calculate this amt, it comes out to be approx.. Rs 10 per kb which is impossible as the standard data charges is 4 paisa per 10 kb
Also if you see international roaming, the standard data charges is Rs.3/MB!
Thirdly my credit limit is Rs.27,000, that means that airtel cannot exceed this amount for billing in any condition or at any location.
Sorry to say I cannot pay such an exorbitant amount for just switching on my data for a few minutes.
Kindly check this issue & solve it at your end.
