Text of Complaint by Subham:

I selected to ‘pay on delivery’ option while ordering food from Swiggy. When the delivery guy came to me and gave him a ₹200 bill and asked for the change which was ₹43. He said he didn’t have change. So I asked his phonepe/gpay number so that I could make the payment to him. He also denied by saying he doesn’t have any of those online payment apps. It was quite late at night and I was starving. I also called swiggy customer service to resolve the issue and if they could give me any link or number for payment. They said it is not possible.
Eventually, the delivery guy took my dinner and went saying this order is cancelled now! Above all they have tagged the amount of the food which I had not tasted as a penalty/cancellation fee!
I ask to the respected forum, is this a way to treat someone waiting for dinner? It’s not that I was unable to pay! It was him who neither had ₹43 change nor any other payment option. Why should I bear the consequence? Immediately after that incident my payment-on-delivery option was blocked forever!
Post-incident thought: Now I wonder, I had my order in my hand during this negotiation. After they cancelled the order , I am pretty much sure my food that night was either thrown away or eaten up by the valet. Coz you can’t resell it. I could have taken a bite of my burger to teach him/swiggy a lesson.
