i took a uber pool ride on 29th may 2018 for which the fare shown was 79 rupees. i was traveling with a co-passenger since it was a pool ride, after droping my co-passenger about 1-2Km after driver stopped my ride and told me to check the fare.
i told him no need to check since its a pool ride fare is fixed @79 rupees but he asked again and when i checked the fare amount was 115 rupees. i contacted the customer support of uber and the few moments after contacting them i have been logged out of my account and now i am not able to recover my password. what they are saying is to reset the account so that each and every details of past journey will be wiped out, so i will not have any proof of their fraud.
the thing which concerns me is that this is not the first time this happened with me, last time when this happened at that time i have stopped using uber and i have not used it for over a year, but this time i continued using it and i have spoken to many cab drivers about the issue since near my locality a lot of cab drivers use to hang around, and few of them are generous enough to give me the truth.
what they told me is that in uberpool rides if they are dropping the single passenger of the pool ride and if they press the finish/complete journey button in their phone then the fare which was fixed before will hike to some more amount and uber will charge that amount from customer (i.e. win-win situation for uber) and the driver will get accordingly from uber (i.e. win-win for driver) and the passenger pays more (only customer suffers).
i asked these drivers to help me expose this fraud situation of uber but they refused by saying that they are just drivers and they have to earn for their family etc..
but some one need to stand against this evil act. so please help me to do that.
