Text of Complaint by Srujan Kumar Manchi Saraff:

Transmission

1. Gearbox oil leakage – vehicle left at service center on 5/2/19, service engineer reported oil leakage in gearbox and it is being replaced under warranty now
2. 16^th January 2019 – Hyd- Pune Highway – This happened while overtaking and this is a serious safety concern, Vehicle suddenly lost all the power, any input on accelerator was just revving the engine like it is in neutral, it was a panic situation as I was overtaking a truck, luckily there was enough gap to abort the overtake, I let the truck on my left pass and pulled the vehicle on the left shoulder, stopped, put it in Neutral, switched OFF and ON, and problem got resolved only after I switched OFF and ON couple of times.
3. Multiple times – Engine suddenly revs up to 3000 to 4000 RPM but the gear does not change, it behaves erratically, does not understand the accelerator input at all, behaves differently for similar accelerator input and similar road condition.
4. 12^th January 2019 – This happened while I was going up the Ramp of my cellar parking, a little input on accelerator did not move the car up the ramp and my brother pushed the accelerator pedal a little more and engine was revving up to the red line in 1^st gear and with immense acceleration which would over run the security guard who was assisting us with directions.
5. 17^th January 2019 – Sangamwadi Bridge up the ramp of flyover – Vehicle is switching off automatically when I put it in drive mode and pull the foot off the brake.
6. Sometimes the vehicle stays in Neutral even after I move the Gear rod into A or R slot.
7. Vehicle does not really understand if it needs to be in 1^st or 2^nd gear and keeps jerking making it very unpleasant to drive.
8. Hill assist comes into action only after vehicle has moved back few feet.

 

Vibrations and build Quality

1. Huge vibrations when the vehicle moves from stand still, also, rattling noise behind the right shoulder of driver seat, it is very irritating to drive the car with such rattling noise
2. The silver lining on the right of the gear lever is not a perfect fit and it is already coming out.
3. Seat covers were not fitted well and Driver seat cover came off on the day I reached my home with new car 17/11

 

Infotainment

1. The song I play and the song that is displayed on the screen are not the same.
2. There is a huge lag between the time I put reverse gear and the time when rear camera shows up on the screen

 

Headlights

1. The Daytime Running Lamps are not turning on, only after I turn the headlight knob on and off these lamps are running, I have personally shown you the malfunction.

 

Are my issues addressed?

1. I dropped my Vehicle with showroom on 19^th January and I explained all the above issues to service engineer, I was assured that it will be checked and on 23^rd January my Vehicle was returned to me without solving most of the issues.
2. Again on 24^th January after my complaint about the transmission amber light warning on dashboard vehicle was taken back to check and I was given a loan vehicle (tata Zest Petrol Manual XMA) to use in the meantime.
3. I was told on 28^th January that issue has been found in the brake switch and it was replaced and vehicle went on 300kms trial and no issue has been found.
4. I took the delivery of the vehicle on 29^th January that is today and just while driving back to Bafna showroom from service center I realized that DRLs are not running and vehicle was jerking 2^nd

 

How all the above issues are affecting me?

1. I almost ended up under a truck coming on other direction when the vehicle ran into pseudo neutral while overtaking, that gives me cold feet and I totally lost any kind of trust or confidence in this product.
2. Unpredictable behavior of the vehicle is making it very difficult to drive in city conditions where traffic is bumper to bumper, I have a constant fear that I might hit someone with this vehicle
3. I almost killed my security guard when I was driving up the ramp, it was heart in mouth situation for him, I have not yet driven this car in mountains but if this is how it behaves, I do not think it is any safe, I might just run out of the edge and end up in a valley.
4. Purchasing this vehicle has been more pain than pleasure and I wish to get rid of it because it is both waste of my time to keep following up with you guys and visiting your service center/showroom frequently to get my issues resolved, It is like I paid Bafna Motors 12 lakh 20 thousands and purchased distress and chaos.
5. And the bottom line is I do not think this product has any market worthiness and customer should not be cheated with substantial products like Tata Nexon XZA+ Diesel.

With multiple issues I have listed here, I lost trust in this product, I do not want this kind of product.
