Text of Complaint by Sachin Lal Varghese:

Hi,

I request this email is properly read and not just glanced through to fetch me the usual blind replies your associates kept telling over the phone until a sensible lady named Aneesa understood the problem correctly and asked me to write to you explaining the sequence.

I refer to the order #171876042278 from KFC made yesterday afternoon (Screen attached)

The first time I was timed out and failed (Note : No amounts were taken and hence closed)

Then the order ID mentioned above debited the amount of Rs.1428 vide UPI and credited it to Swiggy Account but ….. (Screen attached)

Soon the order got immediately placed on COD without me opting for COD, said payment to be paid before delivery online or cash during delivery !

I soon spoke to Swiggy agent and said the amounts are deducted from my bank account and credited to Swiggy to why COD !

That agent said Swiggy did not receive any amount and so I have to pay by cash. She said the entry was a system error which the bank will reverse it in 2 Hrs – Wrong, read ahead

I told her I didn’t have currency with me and hence ordered online, so will not be able to accept COD nor will I make a double order without refund of the first and asked her to cancel it

She cancelled the order which showed COD and soon I get the SMS at 1:11 Pm that the refund of Rs 1428 has been initiated ! (Screen attached)

So that contradicts the first agent who said Swiggy did not get the amount because if it was a COD not paid and if Swiggy did not have a credit, I wont receive the SMS stating refund

So I called again complaining the previous blunder by the first agent who now said I am right and that amount was received for which she will arrange for refund again as previous one failed

Today morning at 6:21 AM, I again get the SMS from Swiggy stating refund of Rs 1428 has been initiated and will reflect in 2 Hours – Failed again (Screenshot attached)

Evening I got transferred from one agent to another who simply vomited the same nonsense that the amount will be credited which it will never be because you are not trying to fetch the reason

Aneesa correctly pointed the fact finally that because it showed COD, there ideally cannot be a refund as your system is designed on a cancelled order. Then why should I suffer when

I did not opt for any COD when your App finished the transaction as a COD for against a UPI successful payment – Also the screen itself says PAID by cash.

If it is COD and if you have not received the money, how will your own SMS which came twice mention the refund of Rs 1428 is initiated

It will keep on failing because even if it is initiated as cash back, mine being an NRE account shall not accept Indian currency except when it is a reversal against a previous debit

All the above means Swiggy has the money and my bank has nothing to do with it and hence if it is not resolved, I shall route through consumer complaints

Request you to kindly stop making me run behind such a trivial matter and arrange the amount to my wallet to the same NRE account as I don’t have another bank account noting that I am not going to sit and fill forms for an error by Swiggy or its systems
