That in order to port my existing no. with Vodafone- Idea (Vi) to Airtel I physically went to the store of Vi in Panchkula, Haryana on 08.02.2021, filed the requisite forms, and completed the required process which took around 2 hours to complete.
That on 09.02.2020 I received a call from Vi from the no. +91 84472 32468 saying that in order to approve my request to port my no. I am required to text “CANCEL” to 1900 and insisted that I do it immediately in order to proceed.
That on doing so I receive a message from Vi stating my request to port no. has in fact been canceled and that in order to port my no. I will be required to visit the Vi store again and do the whole procedure again in the middle of a pandemic.
That when I enquired about the same at Vi’s customer service:
- They never denied running such scams and fraudulent services.
- They dodged me from one executive to another for over an hour.
- That even after I patiently and calmly tried to explain and request them to restore my port request they refused to take into account my grievances.
That this is a scam and fraud that Vi is running in order to avoid losing business.
That even when I explained to the customer service that I have been scammed on their account they never tried to deny it implying that this in fact is routine for them and that they received such calls from a daily.
That instead of improving their services, they resort to scamming their customers and make the path of exiting their service an inconvenience.
That this leads to a wrongful gain to the Vi and wrongful loss to the applicant.
That there are many complaints from various people pending in the consumer forum in this regard and strict action should be taken against these fraudsters and the aggrieved consumer should be compensated accordingly.
That with the ongoing novel Coronavirus when the entire world seamlessly shifted its operations virtually then Vi being an established and advanced telecom company should follow in the same footsteps and make the process doable sitting at home.
That this action from Vi amounts to harassment and mental agony.
