Text of Complaint by S Menon:

I had 3 weeks of harrowing time due to my SIM not working intermittently (SIM not found / Invalid SIM). After verifying that it is not a handset issue, I finally walked into Vodafone store at Mulund W LBS Marg for a SIM card replacement request.

Right from the beginning I noticed that the staff was very unprofessional & rude while dealing with a senior citizen just ahead of me who had to make multiple visits.

For a SIM replacement they first objected saying that it was working on their test phone. I explained that the behavior is inconsistent and showed the same on my phone again.

Then they insisted on Aadhar card without which they would not proceed. Though I explained that legally it is not a mandate, they would not budge. I finally provided my Aadhar number with some difficulty.

Next they insisted on an alternate mobile no without which they cannot accept my request. I then got the supervisor to intervene, hoping for a better customer experience.

The floor incharge (Mahadev Yadav) was extremely rude and refused to proceed without an alternate number. I requested them to put same mobile number as alternate number since they said their system has a constraint (I myself checked that it is possible to put same mobile number).

However, they refused to process my request and asked me to go ahead and raise a complaint if I wanted but they will not proceed without an alternate number.

Over and above the poor quality mobile connectivity services that Vodafone provides, the staff at your stores are extremely rude, discourteous and unprofessional.

I intend to take this matter to the highest level and also social media so that customers (particularly senior citizens) are not harassed in this manner in future.
