Hello,
This is Nilesh Chavan from Beturkar Pada,Kalyan (w) – 421301. There are two grocery stores (1. Ganesh Traders 2. Shree Gajanan Kirana Store) outside Golden Park Phase I and II who are charging Rs. 1 extra above MRP printed for the half liter milk bag.
The MRP printed on the half liter MILk bag is RS. 21 inclusive of refrigerating charges but they charging Rs. 22. That is Rs. 2 per liter and that is amounting to huge corruption and cheating. I had argued with both the shopkeepers and told them its a crime to charge more than MRP but they refused to accept MRP.
They said they buy the milk from the distributor 50 paise above MRP I.e. Rs. 21.50. I said that cannot be true and as a shopkeeper they dont have any right to charge customer extra. I asked for receipt they refused. I asked for the bill from distributor from where they purchase milk but he refused. I asked the contact details of the distributor, he refused that as well.
Hence I made a complaint with jaagograhakjaago and conafs Twitter handles but that’s of no use. Upon escalating this matter with local political parties, one of the party had asked him to come to their office and he said he was asked to pay Rs 15000 penalty but even after that the malpractice of charging extra over MRP has not stopped.
Could you please help me get this addressed so that milk is sold at MRP? These shops sells at least 200 milk bags every day and earn a lot by charging over MRP. Please help me to protect consumer from this corrupt practice. Hope a strict action will be taken against these shopkeepers.
