Text of Complaint by Surajit Saha:

I had ordered for a Haier Washing machine on 14th October 2018 during the Big Billion Day sale from Mumbai. The washing machine was delivered on 27th October to my home in kolkata and on 28th October Flipkart arranged a technician visit from Haier Team to install and provide demo of the product. The Haier technician only unboxed the product and found out that the lid of the product was broken. He suggested my parents at home to get the product replaced and post that he would conclude on the installation and demo. Also during the delivery the delivery people from eKart also suggested to check for damages for 10 days and not to throw the box away till then. Also the general understanding from flipkart ads is that in case of damaged product there will be a replacement.

However, when I tried to initiate a replacement from the app I could not find any options. Thus, I called the customer care executive. The customer care executive confirmed that the “Seller is providing refund only and Replacement is not feasible.”

Please note that the product is of requirement in my house and since I have purchased it on discount a refund and a re-purchase will cost me an additional 2500 RS for the same product. I reached Flipkart executives to escalate the same on social media, where till date they have not provided me with any solutions.

In social media I came across many similar posts from other customers where they were provided with defective products and then replacement was denied. The organisation is not keeping its promises or is hiding these facts from the consumers. Such activities should not be allowed.

I am attaching the snapshots of he communication on social media where the flipkart executives are delaying the process and doing nothing to address the issue.
