Text of Complaint by Gagan Deep Gupta:

I placed order for an electrical Item on 17th Feb’2023, with the payment mode COD.
I received and paid via Google Pay.
When item was received it was in faulty state, not working and even gave me electric shock, so I placed return of the item.

The Amazon personnel picked up the item and then I was waiting for the refund.
After a long time I connected with Customer care, and they mentioned that since it was COD a cheque has been already issued by the seller, and I was asked to wait for some time.
Again after a week or two I connected back with customer care, and this time I was told that cheque was delivered, but I did not received any, so I asked to check with the seller and get the details for the cheque. Also I was told that they will initiate a process for adding the refund amount in Amazon pay balance, but it will take 14 days.

So after 2 – 3 weeks I got a call from Amazon customer care, he mentioned that he will complete the refund transaction on call, and kept me on hold for few minutes, he said the cheque is already credited/encashed so they cannot do refund in amazon pay balance.

I have verified my accounts, and no entry found for that amount and even I never gave/saved my bank account details with Amazon – So how did they issued cheque and deposited without my concern.

Please help, as this might be a Faud/Scam going on with Amazon.
