Text of Complaint by Sharath Kumar:

It’s with great anguish I have to lodge this complaint for escalating an issue which did not get resolved with Flipkart. At the heart of it is appalling customer service and total lack of customer centricity and empathy not befitting an organisation of supposed repute. I have spent so much time and energy for such a trivial issue involving an amount of Rs. 342 and find it very frustrating. The sequence of events is as follows :

I have been a long standing customer of Flipkat though I had stopped patronising for last couple of years due to bad service but resumed again last month before I was hit again with the same reason.

I had ordered for 3 books @Rs. 171 each including shipping on July 27th but on delivery I received only one copy of the book but even that one turned out to be a fake and pirated edition.

I promptly sought a refund/return online followed by a call to their customer rep. to record both my complaints as stated above. I was told I had updated the wrong reason but was anyway assured that it has been rectified at their end and the issue would be sorted out with refunds to be issued for missing 2 books and refund for the other to be done soon after pick-up.

From this point on my nightmare started. I had to make multiple calls and escalations from my online account to get the refund and finally after a few chasers the pick-up of the defective book was done and refund of Rs. 171 given. But this still left Rs. 342 to be refunded towards the missing books and in spite of so many calls and updates via online account the issue would not get resolved and each time used to get a sms that the issue was resolved as the courier co. had confirmed delivery of the order which was a blatant lie. The log history will show the to and fro which happened in spite of being assured each time that the matter will be resolved.

Now it beats me as to how their team can just blindly believe somebody and not even once bother to check with me. I had also sent a pic of the book and packaging (see attached) after one of their customer reps had asked me to mail it and also later did so from my online account. The packaging is so small that no way 2 more books would have even fitted in .

Do they seriously think I am trying to pull a fast one on Flipkart for a measly sum of Rs. 342 ?? It’s really insulting and dont want to give up this now as a matter of principle. And to rub salt into the wounds my account has been blocked perhaps to stop me from reaching the helpline again due to which my GV balance of Rs. 1500 is stuck and am not able to make any purchase which is unlawful.

I made one last appeal to the Grievance officer followed by a chaser in the hope the matter will be settled but there was no response. I not only want my just due of Rs. 342 back but also allow access to my account to use the gift voucher balance.
