I had ordered a product from amazon which after delivery turned out to be completely different from the one shown on the app. I requested a replacement which came a week later and this too was a completely different product. I immediately i lodged a complaint to amazon on the 3rd of August 2022 regarding the return and requested them to refund the amount. The executive told me the refund would be reflected in my Amazon Pay wallet within 24 hours. Today after 11 days i called amazon regarding the status of my refund and they say that the seller has initiated a cheque which would reach to me after a week and i will have to submit the cheque in my bank all by myself. I asked them to transfer the refund in either my Amazon wallet or directly in my bank account. But they say that i will have to cancel the cheque and the refund would take at least 10 days more. They stated that there has been a policy change in the refunds which neither was displayed on the amazon app nor was i informed about it when i called them earlier while returning the product.
the nearest bank from my residence is far and thus i won’t be able to submit the cheque. In addition to this, if i made the payment online, my refund should be initiated online as well. I request the consumer complaint court to take a note of this as amazon dont seem to take this seriously. I also request he amount of time wasted in this and energy involved should be noted as it is not fair to the consumers to invest their time and energy in the matters which were totally intentional wrong doings by the big companies.
