Text of Complaint by Surajit Chakraborty:

This refers to Order No 202306125707439 dated 12/06/2023.

The order was for repairing accidental damages by claiming Zero Depreciation Insurance ( Iffco Tokio).

Both Go mechanic and S S Motors, Kolkata, the work shop doing the repair work, raised bill of Rs.44000 (approx.) towards the insurance claim.

I made the payment of Rs.44000 in two parts, through Icici Credit Card. An advance of Rs. 20000.00 on 7th June’23 and Rs.24000 on 27th June’23.

I had to make the payment to S S Motors there was no cashless payment system between Go mechanic and Iffco Tokio,who reimburses after verification of the work done.

After being tossed from Go mechanic and Iffco Tokio, on 5th of Sept’23,I requested Mr.Avijit, the concerned Surveyor of Iffco Tokio and Mr.Anupam of Go mechanic to come to S S Motor’s workshop, located in Park Circus, Kolkata, and that I would also be there.

Mr.Anupam did not come, however he deputed the Go mechanic Employee located at S S Motors, to resolve the matter along with the owner of SS Motors Mr.Shahid Mohammad.

To my utter dismay during the meeting at Mr.Shahid Office with concerned persons, the Surveyor the Surveyor communicated that the Job done by SS Motors will be around Rs.20000 only as there was no proper evidence of the work done. Also no replaced parts could be shown by SS Motors. It became very apparent that bill was inflated with ulterior motive.

Mr Shahid accepted that mistake did take place and he has over charged and that it was an internal matter between him and Go mechanic. He committed that he would pay me the over charged difference between Rs.44000.00 paid by me and the amount that Iffco Tokia settlement amount.

The following points were agreed.

1.Mr Abhijit of Iffco Tokio will access the claim amount and inform/pay.

2.I am to share my banking details with Mr.Shahid for making the balance payment.

3.Mr Shahid to make the difference amount of Rs.44000.00 – what is paid by the Insurance Company.

The final claim amount of Rs.20400 (Claim no. 37U74191) only was informed by Iffco Tokio on 25th Sep’23.

I thereafter shared my Bank details with Mr.Shahid on the same day requesting him to deposit Rs.23600.00,the difference of Rs.44000 and Rs.20400, at the earliest.

I started following up with him and Mr.Anupan with no effect.

I came to know after many unreturned calls that Mr.Anupam have left Gomechnic.

With no alternative left, I called Mr.Arindam Roy ,Go mechanic’s Oprns Head, located at Kolkata, up on 1st Nov;23.

He confirmed the Mr.Anupam is no longer with Go mechanic and that he would look into the matter and resolve at the earliest.

On 2nd Nov’23 I shared all details regarding the overcharging by SS Motors with him. He asked me “payment mil gya upko?” ,to which I replied that I have received the money transferred by Iffco Tokio and that SS Motors is yet to pay the balance amount of Rs.23600.

To which he replied “Wednesday ko amount transfer ho jyega”.Wednesday was 8th of Nov’23.

On 8th of Nov. when I did not receive the money I texted him asking what happened to which he replied “update you tomorrow”

Thereafter I texted him in Whatts app with no response.

Tried calling him but no response.

Sent him many SMS with no reply. Finally he replied “ After transfer your money will call you back”, on 21st Nov’23.

Sadly that is the last response I got from him.

I am writing to you with the hope that this matter will be resolved at the earliest.

If not settled by you I shall file FIR with the Police under Cheating and Fraud charges.
