Text of Complaint by Adarsh Chhetri:

1. I ordered an apple AirPods Pro 2nd Gen from Flipkart with TREASURE HAUL ONLINE as the seller on the 28th September and paid ₹24,640 (with discount).

2. I received my order around 8th of October with open box delivery. After using it for a some days, I noticed that the left AirPods was draining battery in 5 minutes on a full charge so I asked for a replacement on 15th October.

3. I received the replacement on 18th of October, but this time with no open box delivery option.

4. I checked the replacement and noticed a couple of things straight away, a) the product was used as there were a couple of scratches on front and back side of the AirPods case, b) the product was an AirPods Pro 1st Gen in the AirPods 2nd Gen case (I had ordered the 2nd Gen), and the final thing, c) the product I received was a fake, how do I know this? The back said ‘Assembled in Japan’ (shown in photos), I was a bit suspicious as I know Apple doesn’t assemble in Japan.

5. So I raised another return request on the 18th since I received a fake product. And was told that the return request has been placed and a tech would visit from Jeeves to confirm my claim and then the return would be processed.

6. On 19th evening I called the tech guy who was supposed to visit from Jeeves centre, and a) he said he’ll check and confirm in a while regarding the visit b) I got an email after the call that the visit has been successful and I won’t get any refund according to the tech guy’s assessment & c) the fun part, no one visited my house to check the product.

7. So I called the flipkart support again on 19th and told them what happened, they mentioned they’ve raised a return request and in 72 hours I will receive an email where I can provide photos of product post which a decision would be made if I can get the refund.

8. I got an email on 19th which stated the below:
“Dear Customer,

We apologise for taking longer than expected to resolve your issue. We request you to provide us time till 22 Oct, 9:00 PM to get back to you.

Thanks,
Flipkart Customer Support”

9. I called the support team on 9PM 19th as I did not get any resolution. They guys said please give us one more day, I obliged. And immediately got another email as above but with a changed timing for 23rd October 1PM.

10. I did not get any resolution, but got another email on 1:05 PM with the same email body as above but with a changed time 23rd October 2PM.

11. Needless to say, I did not receive any communication from the Fkipkart support team. 🙂

12. Between all of these, I had called the support team about 10-13 times and every time I called them they said a) it’s pending with the backend team, b) give us till the end of the day, c) I don’t have any more update other than what’s been communicated to me on email, d) please give us some time to check this & e) the issue is pending with the seller and we haven’t heard back from the seller yet.

I wanted to gift this to my little brother who is going to Bangalore for his studies. He has already left and I couldn’t give him his gift. My refund is still stuck with Flipkart as they are unable to give me any update other than “Please wait till the end of the day”.

I request everyone to avoid buying from Flipkart or from the TREASURE HAUL ONLINE seller. Buy from Amazon instead or visit the Apple store directly.
