Text of Complaint by Jemima Felix:

I purchased a product, a study table (order ID : OD118812516960243000) on the 4th of June 2020. I made a full payment of rs 5199. the promised date was 19th June 2020. The product never came.

I called up customer care and they said that due to unforeseen conditions, the product has been delayed and that I will receive it on 25th June by 7 pm. However, the product was never delivered on 25th June.

I called up customer service and this time I was not able to speak to any agent as earlier. It now gave me the option to have someone call me back. So, I took the option and when the agent called me I asked about the delay in the deliver, they said that “due to unforeseen conditions,the delivery has been delayed and that I should wait patiently. The delivery date now changed to 30th June.

However, again, on 30th June the product was not delivered!

I called customer care again, and they repeated the same things and said that the product will be delivered on 5th July.

5th July came and went, yet no product was delivered.

I called up the customer service again and asked to cancel the order. They said they cannot cancel as the product has been shipped. so I asked for the tracking number of the product so that I can at least trace it. They said that they didnt have that either.

They told me to patiently wait until 7th July! By this time I had raised the issue on twitter, thinking that they will expedite the case. But sadly the only thing that happened is that now they started to tell me to have patience via Twitter!

One person from Flipkart called after seeing the repeated tweets on Twitter and said that the product will come by 7th July.

7th July came and went. No product came.

I called up the customer care again. I was told that the product will come on 12th July. I asked them to cancel, but she (Nancy) said that though she can initiate the cancellation from her end, it may not be successful, as the product has been shipped. So I asked the tracking number of the product , but she was not able to give as she said she did not have access to it.

I have recorded few of my conversations with the customer care agent. I have already told them that I will be initiating a consumer complaint against FLIPKART if the product gets postponed again, but to no avail.

I needed the table as I wanted to work from home. I started teaching online as I was laid off  from my job due to Covid-19. For that I wanted a dedicated place so that i could conduct my classes. But this situation is very frustrating. This is pure harassment.

I would like a full refund with interest added for the harassment caused. Had they cancelled and refunded the order, I would have bought the table from somewhere else. Now my money is stuck.
