I received a call from Prelax Technology for data entry work. When I asked for more information they sent me a couple of emails, one a demo and one with the header “License Agreement” . The demo sample looked simple so when in the call they asked me if I can do the work I said yes, it looks simple. Then they sent me the id and password and asked me to start working. I figured out I need to fill up atleast 114 forms each day to be able to complete the task in 7 days.
When I opened the licence agreement mail, there was a link to download agreement, which when I clicked showed “Your Authorization token is not matched”. I sent the screenshot to them on WhatsApp and asked them to look into the matter. Then I sat down to start working coz I was running out of time. It took me 5 hours to complete 60 forms. The next morning I checked for their reply, I had not received any reply. I pinged them again and again asking if they took a look at the issue and I received no replies. All my messages were getting seen(blue ticks) . So I called them up and they didn’t pick my calls. So I called from a different number and this time they picked it up. When I mentioned it’s me and if they looked up the issue, they disconnected the call. I called them again and they did not pick up anymore. Then I sent a message that if my issue isn’t addressed within the next few hours I ll not be able to complete the task in time. Then I finally received a reply asking me to contact helpline number. I reached the helpline number they provided, they asked me to contact helpline email address. I did that too. They asked me to contact the marketing executive who contacted me for the job. That’s Divya, the person I had been repeatedly sending messages with no reply. So finally I realised this is a fraud company just trying to divert me from one number to another number or email address just so that I lose time in that and then fail to complete the assignment. So I sent a final message stating I m done going to and fro from one number to another and because I haven’t signed any agreement yet, m not going to continue working.
Now they are sending me threats that if I don’t pay the penalty I ll be dragged to court.
