On Sunday afternoon, 8th October 2023, I received a call at 1:26pm from the number +916220000221. It was an IVR stating that somebody is trying to change my phone associated with my paytm account please. Asked me to click on 1 if it is not me and click 2 if it’s me. I clicked on 1 as I did not want my phone number to be changed. The IVR then stated that I will receive a call for verification if I am the correct person. I got the code, and entered the number while on call. After a while I received a notification that Rs.38999 has been deducted from my paytm post paid account. I am unable to report it as an unauthorised transaction as there is no option for it. I have raised plenty of tickets with paytm, but never did receive a helpful response. I tried calling them so many times but the numbers available in the internet and in the application is of no use.
I have filed an FIR and also lodged a complaint with the cyber cell. Now I have been receiving calls from the customer service asking me to make the payment in a very rude way. I also received a notice stating from the advocates on behalf of Aditya Birla Finance. Please help.
