Text of Complaint by Lakshmi Vaideeswaran:

I have been on a fully paid annual subscription for years by Tata Sky and was under the privileged customer category. In October of 2018, my set top box was replaced as there was a hardware problem with the same. I was told clearly that there were no charges. My subscription was also valid until Jan of 2019, at the end of which I was sent messages by Tata sky saying they are deactivating my account.

So far so good. Now, at the time of reactivation, Tata Sky is asking me to pay costs towards set top box replacement (about INR 650). Not a single message has been sent to me about extra charge but Vishwajit, the Senior Customer Support executive I spoke to, says that it is required.

I challenge Tata Sky to stand by its commitments and not cause harassment to the customers. I have been a very pro-Tata person, but the attitude of the company executives and the devious means to make money off customers, leaves a very bad taste.

I will take the company to consumer court and request for damages. Let people be warned of their methods.
