Text of Complaint by Sheila:

I am a Vodafone Postpaid user, currently on the 399 plan. After moving abroad, I got the International roaming add-on 150 plan to my existing plan only to receive OTP’s for banking purposes. However on the December of 2021, I got a whopping bill of 5834. From what I could see in the details, I have been charged for an outgoing call made from my Indian number, the call duration being somewhere close to 40mins. I haven’t made this call. I am very sure of it since calling from my India SIM is disabled. I had written 5 emails to customer care VI with no response from them. Closer to the due date i.e. 12th January, I was served with a payment reminder but no response to my email. My mother who lives in India went down to the Vi store but to no avail. Eventually the number was suspended due to non-payment. However, the successive bills generated even after non-payment show usage charges – calling charges – which isn’t possible because the number is now suspended. My bill has been escalated to 9000+ rupees, and from mid-February onward I have been getting constant calls from the collection department. These women have been following up with me on Whatsapp since I still have my suspended Postpaid number on it. It is now over 4 weeks and they keep going back and forth and have offered waivers of 1000-2000 rupees (asking me to pay 6000+ rupees regardless) without directing me to someone who can resolve these unexplained charges. I am very clear, I have not made these outgoing calls, hence been overcharged and need a revision of the bills.
